Look who we ran into yesterday.
He made a big impression on Baby Grand. Big Grand had seen enough big bunnies this week to be wary of a random one just taking a stroll. Smart kid.
The kiddies didn't seem to mind getting soaked.
Finding eggs was okay but it was puddle jumping that really got their attention.
Before all that excitement, I tried out the oven for the first time on a ham. It worked perfectly. The rest of dinner was my pathetic attempts at potato salad and coleslaw. In all my years, the proper execution of both eludes me. The deviled eggs and roasted asparagus were good though.
Daughter brought a bunny cake from her favorite gluten free bakery....
Eggs were dyed....
....and crafts were done. Without any of the other Grands, it was a scaled down version of our usual holiday festivities but we made it work.

Our day was a bit on the rainy side too. But, the rain ended once the kids arrived. Colin was able to help Fletch with some outside things and Iris was excited when six deer wandered into our yard.
ReplyDeleteWith cake like that for dessert, you don't need to apologize for potato salad and coleslaw! I'm glad everyone had a good time and ate well despite the rain.
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun! I don't get the giant Easter Bunnies, I find them bizarre and a bit frightening.
ReplyDeleteChildren usually refuse to let a little rain stop their excitement; good for them.
ReplyDeleteNow that looks like a very successful day! The bunny, egg hunt and bay were wonderful too, but the food makes it even better. The kids are completely unaffected by the rain. A big puddle to jump in is the best fun ever!
ReplyDeleteBlessings and love,
Betsy
Rain can never dampen an Easter Parade - especially when you're small!
