Oh, Graupel

I wanted to title this post Oh, Hail but my weatherman just informed me that this mess is not hail.

It's grauple. Grauple is softer and wetter than hail.

 Who knew?

All I know is that it made a mess, gave me a migraine and scared the beejeezus out of the cats yesterday.

In other pet news, Pup had another trip to the vets. It seems she has torn an ACL in her right leg. More pills, more bills and even worse, a poor pup that can't get around. It's pitiful.

It's a good thing I bought that doggie stroller.

She's not taking no walkies for an answer.

  1. Poor pup!! I've never heard of graupel, but I guess that's what we had yesterday at dinner time.

  2. I love the tenacity of Pup! Nothing will stop that little one! And a new word for my vocabulary! Nothing I like better than a new word!

  3. I had never heard of the term graupel until yesterday. We didn't have any at our house, but apparently it was close by.

Sorry to hear about Pup. Hope she is feeling better soon.

  4. Poor pup! Poor you...!

We never called that graupel - it's just freezing rain.

  5. That was one crazy storm yesterday! The wind was crazy and knocked down a ton of trees. And of course I was outside, without a coat when it hit. That rain was painful! Perhaps we had a bit of graupel too.

I'm so sorry for your pup. Hope she heals quickly & doesn't have to have surgery.

  6. I had never heard of grauple until a few years ago. Now they talk about it all the time out here. Luckily, it usually doesn’t do nearly as much damage to plants as hail does. Poor pup. I have never heard of a doggy tearing an ACL. That stroller is sure coming in handy isn’t it?
    Blessings, Betsy

  7. I had never heard of graupel but it looks like slushie covered ground in your photo. Hope Pup makes a quick and complete recovery and no surgery is required. The stroller will be a wonderful aid to let her go on her walks without pain.

I have not heard of graupel...we would probably call it hail of sleet:)
