And so it Begins

Thanks to a long run of rainy days, the Dresden Plate quilt is finally in the hoop.

I've always wanted a pouncing pad for transferring the quilting patterns so I finally talked myself into buying one.

I've also got a collection of stencils to use with the new toy.

Corners are easy and fun so I'll start there.

Oh, yeah. I really like doing this. This is going to take forever but I really don't care if this quilt ever gets done. I am going to enjoy the process.

  1. I love this in so many ways. I've hand quilted two queen size quilts, one for Mandy right after she moved and one for us. So much work, but also very worth it. I learned to actually enjoy the entire process. Love the Dresden plate pattern.

  2. Sometimes we have to remind ourselves about the pleasure of the journey instead of hurrying to the destination. The pounce is a great tool!

  8. Thank you for these photos! I desperately want to learn how to quilt. Piecing I understand, but not hand-quilting. The quilt is gorgeous so it should be a joy to quilt.
