Road Trip Fail

The only knitting time I've had lately has been in the car. When the weather gets nice, we gather up the dogs and take a road trip to do some shopping. The Mister and I take turns going in the stores so the pups won't be alone. My travel project has been my Undines but that has to change.

What you don't see in the first picture is that I am unknitting.

I found a boo boo. 14 stitches where there should be 12. 4 whole rows back. Ouch. Tink, tink, tink.

Not easy with this in your lap.

Even worse, Pup likes to annoy Old Doggie by getting in her face and causing a ruckus. It's like having a car full of 2 year olds. Bad little dogs.

That's why Undine is coming out of the travel bag. I can't think straight enough to count even this simple pattern while refereeing dogs and at the same time trying to have a conversation with The Mister while he's calling me a hundred times from the store to see if he should be buying what he's thinking of buying. I'm casting on some plain vanillas. It's the only way to save my sanity.

  1. Well they're beautiful, but I can see how they would be a challenge given the obstacles you face in the car! :-). Vanillas would definitely be easier to pick up and put down when referring must take place.

  2. Sorry for mishaps. But those socks will be a joy to wear when done. Love that yarn!

  3. Even though your Undines are very pretty, sometimes plain old vanilla is the only way to go!

  4. You make me laugh. I try to go to the store alone, it is my only alone time I can get. Usually I have a very chatty five year old with me.

  5. Even if traveling with just The Tim, it has to be something completely mindless, or it turns into a pile of glop!

Those pups are so darn cute.

  6. Yup - that's what I'm taking on my trip. I won't have dogs to referee, but too much chatter with girlfriends!! Love that yarn.

  7. The Undines will be there for you later! That;s the great thing about yarn - it never goes bad!

  10. Love that yarn and the Undine pattern, too; but sometimes plain is the only thing that works.

  11. Been there done that on more than one occasion. LOL! I haven't had any luck with the Undine pattern even at home late at night when the hooligans are all fast asleep. They're so pretty but they aren't working two at a time on magic loop needles.
