Have Socks Will Travel

My latest portable project is done. They are Daughter's Sakkie by Plymouth socks. They are an unusual blend of 40% Merino, 40% Mohair and 20% nylon.

I had a hard time keeping a consistent tension going as you can see but they feel lovely-all soft and fuzzy.

Next up, is my last skein of Socks that Rock in the Lenka colorway. I didn't like the feel of this particular yarn at first but now I love it.

They were one of my travel projects on the train up and back to Rhinebeck this year. It has been living in my favorite packable project bag.

The other two projects were also socks but I didn't have another decent project bag to take along. I did have a giant stash of material and the basic idea of what I needed to do.

Once I got started, I couldn't stop.

Matching beads to material to projects was just too much fun.

My Hermoine's Everyday Socks in a Halloween colorway got an autumn colored bag.

My plain vanilla Crazy Zauberball socks got a crazy batik print.

I am happy to say that I did not start a project for this particular bag-not yet anyway.

Tomorrow: Rhinebeck!

  2. Great sock finish. Zueber feels stiff to me , I've never knit with it....how is it in your hands?

    1. It's not stiff at all. It's actually very soft. I have made several pairs of socks with it, striping it with Knit Picks Stroll and you can't feel any difference between them.
