In my quest to empty out my closet of forgotten projects, I pulled out this old gem. It is my A Season of Mist and Mellow Fruitfulness wrap. That's it's actual name, I couldn't make that up.
I hated working on this because the yarn was the same color as my Harmony needles. Even worse, when I switched it over to the metal circulars, it felt like it was going to slide right off which made me very uneasy.
Since Knit Picks recently introduced their new Sunstruck blond wood needles, I thought I would give it another go.
The color is perfect and the slippery factor is now at a minimum. The tips could be pointier for my taste but I won't quibble. They do the job.
Since the whole mess looks like brown spaghetti, I tried to stretch it out to show off the pattern. I had to climb on the table and use my arms and legs to pull it out while trying to take a photo. I'm lucky I didn't break something. The things you do...
It's very comforting to know that I'm not the only one that likes to have her needles match her yarn.
ReplyDeletewell it is just amazing stretched out. THANK you for that. It is totally different now!
ReplyDeletehow did you get your arm and leg on the table and take a picture. where you holding the camera with your teeth?
ReplyDeleteCause I know you would if needed.
Love the color.
Oh - that's beautiful - you've got to get moving on that one!

ReplyDeleteI have horrible needles for my shawl I am trying to make
ReplyDeleteI need to buy size 6 US circular needles would you be willing to give me an idea what to get. MIne are cheap metal and the cord loops like crazy and everything slides off when I look at it.
Ditto for sock needles DP size 1 and size 2
would love some help
Easy.....go to Knit Picks.com and then buy their wood Harmony needles. You won't be sorry. I love them. For the price you can't beat them. You can buy the cables and the tips separately in the sizes and lengths you need. The Harmony sock needles are also wonderful. I have them in the dark Harmony and the light Sunstruck.
DeleteThanks! I will head to knit picks right now!
