Gulf Coast Blues

The more dirty water you can get out of your little bags of soaked fleece, the better. I came up with this idea while wandering through Walmart with Daddio the other day. I hang the bags to drip in the morning and by afternoon all the excess water is out and I have nice damp fleece to bring inside to wash and dye.

This Gulf Coast fleece is going to be spun for socks. I wanted bright tropical colors but at the last minute I went with something on the cooler side of the palette. It could have been that it was 90 degrees on that particular wash day.

In spite of the heat, I steamed up the kitchen pretty good.

It was worth it. I love these colors and I can't wait to run them through the carder.

  1. All that fluff is a joyful sight! One that I need to duplicate in my kitchen very soon. ;-)
