Hommage to Socks

The third pair of Corrie socks are done. I am happy to report that newly spun toe is not bothering me at all. It's the one in front in case you are wondering.

Immediately after casting off, I cast on the second of another pair of Corrie socks. I am starting to see an end in sight. There is only one more pair of Corrie after this and then a pair of Jacob that I cast on so foolishly during a raging fit of startitis months ago. I won't be doing that again.

I had quite a bit of the turquoise left over and some leftover nests of Corrie. I see some crazy stripes in my future. Far future. The rustic sock making machinery is grinding to a halt for the time being.

Having said that, I do so love these socks. I didn't think I would need thick warm socks this year but it seems I do.

I pull a thick pair over a pair of thinner socks and then I can wear my Crocs in any weather without a problem. I haven't put on my boots since Snowpocalypse 2010 and I hope to keep it that way. I only wish I could fit them inside my skates. Hmmmm......?

  1. I've been in a sock making streak for quite some time here too but I'm afraid I couldn't pull off wearing my crocks outside in all our snow....no matter how many pair I piled on!!! This last storm lasted for days and totally buried us and then the temps dropped drastically so me and my crocks are house bound for now. :-(

  2. Another wonderful pair all done. You need to find Crocs with no holes for that snow situation! Hubby found some of those Crocs and calls them his winter crocs. He's been hinting for socks so I guess I better get at them soon.
