Something Else Finally Finished-Almost

The Cormo hat is done and I have almost enough of this skein left for some matching mitts. I will have to card and dye some more to finish. I have to say I love, love, this Cormo. It feels like nothing I have ever knit before. Mid July I was starting to doubt the wisdom of this giant impulse buy but right now I am glad I still have buckets of this amazing stuff left.

DONE!

It has been a long time since I finished anything. Daughter's Fishgyles are now a done deal. They are so cute. I wish they had been more fun to knit because I want a pair too. I am hoping that it's a little like having a baby. You don't want another one as soon as you get home with the one you just had-but give yourself some time and a second one seems like a good idea. I'm hoping it's the same with these socks.

Say What?

I found this picture on a post entitled Understanding Knitting Patterns.
The first thing you need to understand about knitting patterns is that you don't use a crochet hook to knit and it doesn't turn out looking like double crochet.
Using Google images for posting is risky business.

Dirty Jacob

You certainly get what you pay for when you buy fiber and I have learned the hard way that those great deals on ebay are not worth my trouble anymore. I love Jacob fiber but this cheapo bag was almost useless.



I threw away more than I ended up putting in the net bags for a soak. I hope I get enough for a pair of socks. I love Jacob socks.

Snapped

It was a strange feeling to have my drive band break. I took me a minute to figure out what was wrong.



Good thing I had the forethought to order a new poly band a few months ago to keep on hand from Susan's Spinning Bunny.



It slides together seamlessly and works perfectly. I love it. I need more.

Cormo Mug Shots

I am so tickled by this stuff I can't stand it.



I am more than amazed I pulled it off.



It's not perfect, but if you could have seen the stuff I had to spin it from you would be as surprised as I am that it turned out to be yarn.

Know It All

See all those stitches? 200 times about 30 rows equals a GIANT headache. I have to rip them all out. I am going to do it right now.



Why? Because I thought I was smarter than the designer and changed her hem to a knitted in one that CURLS UP like a giant #*$%&$##*$!!!! Please insert all the bad words you know here. I assure you that there isn't one I haven't used.
