An April Fool

I've tried every which way I know to get a matched pair of socks out of that Static yarn I had the disaster with last weekend. Everyone on Ravelry seems to be able to do it but I just can't see the color changes.

I wound off two 50 gram balls of it and had The Mister help me roll it out all over the deck in the daylight to see if I could spot any color patterns. The colors are all so similar. This is the Terrarium colorway btw.

The Mister thought I was crazy but I did spot something I could work with although nothing really matches up. He said why bother. He didn't mind a pair of socks that didn't match so I just gave up and will make these for him.

If all that wasn't foolish enough I thought it would be a good idea to cast them on two at time in the car while we went off for our grocery pick up. It's hard enough to do that all alone in a quiet corner but in a car with a yappy dog and a yappy Mister. Not good-but done.

  1. Yappy dog and Yappy Mister - too, too funny! Glad you got them going and glad you are not agonizing over making them match. Life is too short!

  3. You made me laugh. I can just imagine you crawling around the deck with a magnifying glass trying to see the color changes like Sherlock Holmes! :-) I'm glad the cast on was successful. The hardest is behind you now and it will be smooth knitting ahead.

  4. Oh gee! That's a lot of work!
I have a skein of Static (in Bee Keeper) but I'm not going to bother to try to make them match. I don't even worry about the Felicis matching.
