Before I even got started I had a success is this new-to-me fusible batting. I saw it on The Midnight Quilt Show and it makes a huge difference in dealing with puckers on the back. It sticks it all down good and tight. Much better than spray adhesive.
I practiced on these little quilt sandwiches before starting in on the real thing.
Even so, I couldn't sew a straight line with the walking foot to save my life. It was nice having the extra space to maneuver on the Juki but as far as the product goes-it's me, not the machine that is having the issues.
That is an absolutely stunning quilt. I'll bet your straight lines are straighter than my straight lines!! Ha!

No fun when it doesn't go as you'd like. Hope that a little practice makes perfect.
ReplyDeleteWell, once it is thrown in the washer and dryer, it will matter little that your lines aren't perfect. You are too hard on yourself!
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful quilt!
That quilt is so beautiful! Good luck with your Juki -- you'll get the hang of it.
ReplyDeleteSomething handmade doesn't need to be perfect - it's imperfections are what makes it beautiful. Let go and have fun!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous quilt!! The lines on those little practice sandwich squares look pretty darn straight to me.
ReplyDeleteBut the pinwheels are beyond Super Duper. I love them
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried a walking foot yet, but I'd like to. Practicing is such a good idea, but I'm usually too impatient.
