It Takes a Village
After a miserable night without much sleep, we spent yesterday ushering in one health care worker after another. We had a nurse in the morning checking vitals and the wound........
...and a physical therapist in the afternoon. The Mister is still walking like Bambi on ice but that's to be expected. Up and down, up and down. Every 2 hours we get up and walk, then sit in a chair, then back in bed for exercises and finally an ice pack. All day long. Over and over and over.
Hope he was better able to rest last night. Healing can take quite a bit of time.
ReplyDeleteEstablishing a routine is the first step to recovery. Best wishes
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing what our bodies can take. If you think about what's been done to him - and he's still able to get up and walk at all! Amazing!
ReplyDeleteIt's going to get a little better every day....Hope the pain let's go first!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing? My friend who has had both hips and a knee replaced, was sent home immediately after all three. I took her home each time. They had her up walking before we left the hospital less than 2 hours after the recovery room! Unbelievable.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad it's over and now recovery begins...for both of you!
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy
