We've officially hit the Oscar the Grouch stage in The Mister's recovery. Fur has been flying between us and to top it off I had a monster migraine yesterday, my third in a week. I'm not sure why some men find it so hard to follow doctor's directions and just do what's best for them but they do. Dad was the same way. It's exhausting. This oppositional defiant routine is getting old fast but at least I am able to walk away and close his bedroom door now so I can get some precious down time for myself. Every minute counts.

This too shall pass. Just remember that. Try not to konk him on the head with a frying pan. Men never listen. They have “man ears”. That goes with their “man eyes” when they can’t find something in the cupboard when it’s right there. Just stand tall and walk proud. You’re in control.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry y'all are going through all that. Men really do make THE worst patients! Day 3 is normally the worst for post-op injury pain so hopefully he'll begin feeling better and things will get easier. Hugs to you!
ReplyDeleteOh, no! I hope the situation has hit rock bottom and there will be much improvement each day. I guess if the mister lived alone, he would have been sent to a rehab facility. Good luck!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry. I have a weird husband. He doesn't like to have anyone fuss or be aroud him when he's sick. Just leave him alone. And...he's a direction follower. If the doctor says do it, he does it. I'm very lucky.
ReplyDeleteI hope all goes well with you AND the Mister. Hide the frying pans my friend!
Blessings and love,
Betsy
I'm sorry--my guy isn't good at following directions either--it is exhausting. Take care of his basic needs and let him find out the consequences himself! I sympathize about the headache--it's been a rough time of them for me, too!
