KAL Update

The Spiral Socks are done and I am so glad to be rid of them.

Continuing the pattern down the foot was a real headache and I am more surprised than anyone to see that it all worked out. I don't know how it did because I had to abandon the pattern and make it up as I went along.

The skull mitts are also done but......

I made a boo boo on the last gusset. For some reason I can't explain I thought I should increase to 28 stitches on the second one when there was only supposed to be 22. As a result one thumb is much bigger than the other but for now I am fine with it. It doesn't look terrible on but if it drives me nuts I'll rip it out NEXT Halloween. I don't have it in me to do it now. I would have to rip all the way back to the middle of the last skull and I HATE ripping back stranded colorwork. Ugh.

The last Falling Leaves sock is this big. The first sock went pretty fast but this one is just poking along. Now that the other KAL projects are done this one should move faster-at least I hope so. I've got a sweater I want to get back to.

Finally, look what Daughter sent me. Cute, huh? And look at the hem. It's longer in the back to cover up my fluffy parts. She found it at Joann's of all places. I love it.

  1. Congrats on the two finishes. I've added your skully mitts to the KAL.

Love the shirt ....fluffy cover is always a nice addition to a shirt.

  2. Oh my! I'm going to JoAnnes tomorrow! That shirt is just perfect. I love all of your projects. If you don't tell anyone about that thumb no one will ever notice except you. You are knitting machine my friend.

  3. Cute Tee! And two and 7/8 finishes. Woo-Hoo! The spiral socks are gorgeous and your skull mitts fantastic. Just remember your two thumbs are different sizes (like one ear is lower than the other) - consider them to be customized! The muted color of your Falling Leaves pair is so pretty - very soothing.

  5. I think your projects are pretty amazing, even if they gave you fits sometimes.

And I really like the shirt. :-)

  6. Well done!!! I certainly can't tell there were any changes on the spiral socks at all and I don't blame you for not wanting to rip back stranded work. I have enough trouble knitting stranded let alone ripping it back. They are darling just the way they are. Cute shirt too!

  7. The spiral socks turned out just great! I think the skulls mitts look good too, despite your, "boo boo". If they are for you, who the heck is going to be looking at your thumbs that close? If you catch them, tell them to stop!

Your daughter did good again gifting you that excellent shirt. Wear it in knitting pride and joy!

  8. The socks and mittens are both just beautiful! You are so talented and I enjoy seeing your projects. The t-shirt is wonderful and just perfect for wearing with leggings or skinny jeans.

  9. I am loving your new apron, new soap and oh my those Autumn themed socks are perfect. Your daughter is the best finding that shirt. I have not seen one at my Joann's but I do have the day off tomorrow. I might go take a peek at it and see it=f there is one available. It is perfect, especially because it is fuller in the rear where I need it.

  10. Two KAL finishes, WOW! Those mitts are amazing. As we say in our quilt group, if you can't see it from 30 feet on a galloping horse it's fine. They should be great while handing out treats!
