Yesterday the focus was on removing the old tile. I found this blue tile on a clearance shelf right after we moved here. It served it's purpose but I was very tired of the blue.
The Mister was pleased to discover it came up pretty easily. He is stiff and sore from the job but there was no drama-thank goodness.
We've got drama today though. None of the plumbing is matching up with the new stuff which is a big problem. While The Mister and a friend he brought in for consultation mull the issue over I'm using the giant bathtub box as a design wall.
That huge box has come in very handy. I would have been crawling around on the floor to get my wedding rings pinned down. I am going to miss it when it's gone.
I also want to thank two bloggy friends for some happy mail that arrived today. Mmmm.....pecan pie flavored coffee and fancy yarn goodies. Thanks ladies, you made my day!
Are you going to save the blue tiles for a project? They look like they would make good mosaic pieces.
ReplyDeleteThe quilt top is lovely. That box was a great helper. You could always fold it up for the next time.
Wow! I wish I had the physical capacity for DIY. I do like your repurposing of the big box as a 'design wall'. That's your creativity right there! :-)
ReplyDeleteDo you think you will salvage the box for future design inspiration once the bathtub has been put in place?
Glad the tile removal went well! My DH ran into the plumbing problem with our new pool pump-all the fittings were a different height than the old....never easy! The box looks like a keeper to me. Will it lay flat under a bed to save for a design wall for the next quilt?!
ReplyDeleteWas there ever a house project that went as planned? Not in my lifetime !
ReplyDeleteGreat improvised design wall!
ReplyDeleteNot sure if you have room, but Mom made one one of these for her new quilting adventures... It's big enough to design out smaller quilts, and she uses it for sandwiching too so she doesn't have to get down on the floor.
I know you love Ikea!

I don't have room but I LOVE that thing!!! I wonder if I got rid of the dining room table and made one of those? There is so much wasted space under a table. Hmmmm....
ReplyDeleteIt seems as though there is always drama when you have a remodel. I hope the Mister figures things out. A bonus though, that quilt is beautiful and I'm glad things were easier for you working on it with the box.
