More Stitches

I bought a new hoop. It's tiny and it's oblong. It's been a big help with finishing up the mini quilt.

I also found these little finger things at Joann's. They work great when the needle gets stuck.

Also in the quilting section I found a Q Snap type quilting frame on clearance. I love my big wood hoops but I couldn't pass this up for the price.

I am thinking that I'll give it a go with this. It was one of the joint quilting projects Daddio and I worked on a few years ago. He made the Dresden plates and I appliqued them down and sashed it. After working on the mini quilts I've been itching for another hand quilting adventure. This ought to do it.

  1. How wonderful to have those memories as you stitch on projects. I love those Dresden plates but don't have the patience to make them myself.

  7. I loe all your quilting adventures.
Mom just got some Dresden templates and are talking about making a quilt together. I've loved the pattern since I was little. When I was about 6, she made me a pillow with a fan on it because it was the closest she could manage with her limited knowledge at the time. She wanted to make a quilt, but it was too hard, so I got a nine patch quilt and the pillow as a consolation prize. She did put a big ruffle all around it, so I was more than thrilled!

  8. I figured those mini quilts would lead to something bigger eventually. :-)

  9. The yellow fabric and the pattern remind me of a quilt my grandmother made for me for my twin bed. I still have it.
