We got only a glancing blow from the big blizzard.
It wasn't actually a snow storm or an ice storm. It was something in between.
We had snow showers and then freezing rain on and off all day. It was weird, even for here.
The ice blowing off the trees and hitting the roof all day was the worst part. It sounded like breaking glass.
I kept my mind off the mayhem happening outside by doing some hand quilting on the spring mini quilt.
Seeing it was Pi Day I also destroyed the kitchen making a couple of mini apple pies.
All in all it was still a pretty miserable 24 hours of cold, wet and wind. It didn't seem to faze the flowers though. Let's just hope it was winter's last gasp. I'm certainly over it.

I'm glad you didn't get worse though the wind and ice falling makes it pretty nervy outside!
ReplyDeleteNice way to celebrate Pi day! The quilting is a nice way to stay calm-er!
That looks like an icy cold mess!! I'm feeling really bad for those pretty yellow blooms. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love your pies. Im totally over winter. This is for me, historically, the hardest week of the year. Aides of March, ST. Patricks yuck, etc. Let it be SPRING please please please
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you didn't get worse from the storm although it seems you used your time well. Those pies look yummy.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
If I had any flowers, they'd be buried under a foot of snow! But I'm trying to stay positive. We are supposed to be back above freezing by the end of the week.
ReplyDeleteSuch weird weather, it is a high of 52 degrees here in Florida, it is March! I have to tell you I used your foot fizz the other day after working outside all day long and it was such a lovely experience. My feet were so happy after I got them out of the tub. And because of you I ordered a few supplies to make lip balm. I am so excited! What a fun little present that would be for friends and family. I can't wait for it all to get here. Do you ever use shea butter instead of almond butter?
ReplyDeleteI only used almond butter because it seemed more edible but shea is actually from a nut too. Hmmm...I have some pumpkin butter, cranberry butter, aloe butter, coffee butter, olive butter and even some chamomile butter....oh, dear. Look what you started. It's a slippery slope!
DeleteOh boy I see lots of experimenting in your future....
DeleteMini quilts and Mini pies!So dainty and cute! love it. Pie dough is my archnemesis. ugh.
