Wednesday WIPs: On the Ball

I knew I was finally getting on the other side of this when I woke up caring about what my house looked like. The first thing I did was blow up my exercise ball anticipating that I would soon be needing it for some rehab. I like to sit and knit on it. When I was teaching, I always had one in my classroom. After missing the entire second week of school one year, I learned my lesson and took all this back stuff very seriously. I started and ended my day with a good stretch out and sat on it when I had the rare opportunity to sit.

There were so many things that needed catching up on. The floors were a disaster. Vacuuming with my little cordless wasn't a problem but mopping would be so I did the washrag shuffle. The rest of the day was spent recuperating but at least I had accomplished something.

The poor Mister had to create his own 72nd birthday celebration yesterday. I sent him to the store for a cake and this is what he came home with. I was expecting something a little more festive tbh.  His old work buddies are taking him out to lunch today so there's that. We do what we can at our age.

  1. I hope you get plenty of time to sit and knit on the ball and your back is feeling better. Happy Belated Birthday to the Mister! I would eat a piece of that cake. It even says it's "Fun and delicious" right on the box.

  3. I used to have a pair of booties with duster cloth on the bottom for my kitchen. I’m happy to hear you are seeing/feeling some progress.

  5. First, the happiest of birthdays to The Mister. I think that cake looks yummy. You can't go wrong with Pepperidge Farms. :-)
I'm glad you're doing somewhat better. Mandy used to use the exercise ball all day when she sat at a desk. The washrag shuffle is a great idea. I used the dust mop yesterday and it made me feel a great sense of accomplishment. I've been cross-stitching, (outlining) all week.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy

  7. Well - the washrag shuffle is new to me but it looks like a good idea when one's back is in a pinch. I'm smiling at the cake your husband chose. Chocolate is always a good choice.
