A Long Time Coming

This is a VERY important photograph. It's me. I'm knitting and there's a raging thunderstorm going on overhead. I am NOT hiding in the cold, uncomfortable downstairs. I am right where I usually sit because all the trees that terrified me for almost 30 years are GONE. It's taken a lot of money and a lot of ongoing effort to clear the debris but they can no longer do any harm. It's the first thunderstorm I've enjoyed in years. They really are spectacular.

  1. Good for you! I’m glad you’re comfortable and enjoying thunderstorms again.

I finished my Hue Shift afghan some years ago and it took me a while. Have you decided how to finish the edges? I decided to knit around the edge with the leftover yarn, in random order.

Did you buy the kit or choose your own colors? Your colors look like mine. My daughter chose her own colors, all beach-related. So, I’ve k pitted two and won’t ever knit one again! It was fun but got slogging and I could never get the corners to meet the way I wanted. They look fine to any non-knitter but to me, I was sloppy. You’ll enjoy it once you’re done.

  2. I'm glad you can enjoy a good thunderstorm now! (And your Hue Shift makes a nice bit of color in the otherwise b&w photo.)
