Getting Stuff Done
Yesterday did turn out to be a Sew, Sew Sunday-a marathon one.
I got up at 6 and scrubbed the house from top to bottom so nothing would get in my way. I got the two aprons cut out and kitted up. Now I just need to sew them all together.
And I did get the backing for the Sunflower quilt pieced together and the whole thing all sandwiched and ready to quilt. Valerie was sweet enough to offer to quilt it for me if I sent her the top and if I had seen that comment before I had started I might have taken her up on it. It was a BEAR. It took me four hours of fiddling and dragging, pinning and unpinning, ironing and smoothing to get it finished. Now that the hard part is over I think I can tackle the quilting one block at a time after I move things around in the sewing room to make some space for it. It's going to be a challenge but I do like a challenge.
Before I get started on it I am going to make some placemats that hopefully will match the hexie table runner that I am working on. I really need some placemats right now so that's a mission I need to be on-after painting of course. Today I have to paint the hallway and all that new molding we just put up.
And....thanks again, Valerie for your kind offer. Knowing all too well the time and energy it takes, I am in serious awe of your generosity.
Busy, busy, busy. You are doing so much!! Can't wait to see your aprons.
ReplyDeleteIf you get going on it, and find it's too hard, the offer is still open! But I'm sure you'll do just fine!
ReplyDeletePS - love the apron fabrics
Yes, it will be good to think of doing the big quilt just one block at a time! The big clean was a good idea-clears room for some serious creative thinking!
ReplyDeleteCute apron fabric. You’re brave to do the quilting on your regular machine.
