Too Hot to Handle

After my last free motion disaster on Daddio's Thangles quilt I had to work up a lot of courage to tackle the Saltwater Mini Quilt and the matching table runner.

Can you see the quilting? No? Good. That was the idea. I just ran a few loopy lines down the seams and called it a day. Nothing fancy. I've had what little confidence I had badly shaken.

It's still hot. I am still locked inside but for some reason this is only as far as I've gotten on the binding.

This is as far as I've gotten on the binding on the table runner too. I love sewing on binding. I have a good book to listen to but I'm just not feeling it. All this inside time is making me restless. I can't settle in one place for long. I need to get out of here but it's too damn hot.

  1. I’m sorry. Your quilts are beautiful but I feel for you with the heat. It was supposed to be 96 here today but the smoke kept it in the high 80’s. I don’t know which I would rather have, although we’re trying to tough it out at the lake. I went through an entire box of Kleenex today because of eye and nose irritation. So annoying. But I’ll be complaining when it snows, so I guess there’s no making me happy! :-)

  2. Deb I have to get out on my hot porch because I just can't be cooped up in the dang a/c. Fezzik and Pie love to hang out here no matter how humid it is. I see an IRON in your post. I recently found mine. We reintroduced one another. I kind of like her. It only took 30 years.

  3. It was 47° this morning with a light rain and wind. I can feel and smell Fall in the air.

  4. I realized I never even stepped outside yesterday-too hot and humid; it sits on you in a most disagreeable way! So be restless-and listen to a good book!
