Finally

A few days before the thumb incident, I was putting it to good use. Just look at it using those scissors....sigh.

I was never so happy to see the back end of a project. These blue and yellow dishtowels almost did me in.

Now that they are history, I like them. I really like them.

They were a bit beyond my skill level but I went the distance and I'm glad. They could have gone in the trash several times but I stuck it out and learned a lot from the whole disaster of a project.

I had already begin winding the holiday warp a few weeks ago but I ran out of the green cotton. Of course.

While I was waiting for a yarn delivery, I warped a small sample of some cotton I found packed away from ages ago.

I thought I had a single towel's worth warped but it's more like a napkin's worth. Oh, well....

I have plenty of this cotton and the pattern is pretty so one day I can start all over and make a set of towels to match my napkin-when I have a working thumb again. I never realized thumbs were so damned important.

  3. Gorgeous dish towels! They'd make drying dishes almost fun. Hope that thumb is getting better. You definitely have my sympathy on that one! Funny how we don't appreciate things until they don't work, isn't it?
