Oh Happy Day

Nothing in the fiber world makes me happier than having newly plied yarn soaking in the sink.

It is such a feeling of accomplishment. The only thing that comes close is blocking a lace shawl.

For days now I will be ridiculously thrilled to share the bathroom with this hank of drying fingering-weight Corriedale.

It seems like only yesterday that it looked like this.

  1. Oooh, it looks beautiful! I've recently started spinning, but I haven't been able to do anything with my yarn yet, because I don't know how to do this part. Do you have any good instructions?

  2. Hmmmmm.....everything I know I learned from listening to the Yarnspinner's Tale podcast. If you are on Ravelry she also has a group where you can post questions and get expert advice. I use them often.
The most important part of spinning is deciding what you are going to use your yarn for. That is how you decide how to finish it-whether to ply it or not and how many plies you want. A good source for information is Spin Off magazine-and You Tube,of course!
