Liar, Liar Pants on Fire

I know I said I was not going back on Sunday but I did. I just had to. I ditched the family and off I went all by myself.

I wanted to see the Sheep to Shawl competition.

Where else are you going to see this?

Here is another reason I like Sunday mornings. It's empty. This photo of the main road was taken at about 9:30.

I got a bench all to myself.

The vendor booths were empty. You could actually see things.

Yesterday I couldn't even get near Tess's Designer Yarns. Today I could spend as much time as I wanted looking at the baby knits. I want to make them all.

I visited the Cormo booth and discovered their stuff is as sticky as mine. Their roving was a bit lumpy too. I feel better now. I didn't totally ruin last year's fleece after all. That must be what it's supposed to be like.

I did get those buttons that I said I really didn't need. I am glad I did. I LOVE these. I am planning to knit a sweater just to go with them.

I didn't have a lot of money-I had to use my weekly grocery bucks, so I only bought a small bit of fiber on Sunday. I went to the Jacob Conservatory and bought a 4 oz ball. I also got two small 2 ounce bags of Icelandic but the photos were terrible and I am so over photographing stuff right now, you will have to take my word for how nice it is.

Boy am I tired. I sat on the bench outside the entrance in the shade for about a half an hour just to work up the energy to leave. I went to bed at 2:30 then got back up at 6 to got there by 9. I loved every minute of it. I only regret running out of money before I saw those center pull Bull's Eye Bumps in the Loop booth. I want one bad. I am hoping they will put some in their Etsy shop soon. I'll go without food for one. Seriously.

See that Mini? It looks lost in a very big crowd.

But, she is in the FIRST ROW right next to the exit. Easy in, easy out on Sunday. That was a first. Happy Mother's Day to me!

  1. Next year call me if you want to go back on a Sunday morning - that looked more like my style and a lot more fun. I remember years ago when I met you there on a Saturday afternoon and it was so crowded we spent the entire time dodging, weaving and squeezing in places - it gave me the heebie jeebies.
