Snow Day

By the time most of you read this, good ole Punxsutawney Phil will have made his prediction. I'm always hoping for more winter because I am a big fan of snow. I woke up yesterday morning at 6 just to run outside like a fool to get pictures of the only real snow we've seen around here in a long while.

It wasn't much but it was a pretty picture until the sun came out and turned it all to mud. All those pine trees were once in my living room as Christmas trees. That's my house on the right so you can see how big they've gotten. I do love my pine trees. The tall one in the middle came home in a cup from school with #1 Son over 30 years ago. It's a crazy looking loblolly and look how happy it is. I'm pretty sure all my pines and hollies love the snow as much as I do.

Our baby pines came home in a cup from a wedding with Daughter. They were the wedding favors from a very green couple apparently.

It was a real bummer that I missed the snow coming down overnight but I'll take what I can get. The white stuff is harder and harder to come by in these parts anymore.

  1. The tree by our mailbox was our Christmas tree the first year we moved into the house. It's huge now! The snow was pretty.

  2. No snow here in Austin Texas but I would be happy to send you some trees full of ice. Branches are breaking all over town. Freezing rain for the past four days. Supposed to be over by tomorrow but so far today's temp is 31 and nothing is melting. Ugh.

  3. I'm telling you - you just need to move to Canada! We've got plenty of snow for you (and I don't even live in one of the snowy parts!)
