Taking the Plunge
Hey Mister....whatcha lookin' at?
Oh....it's the New Year's Day Polar Bear Plunge.
The beach was filled with lots of crazy people taking a swim in the 40 degree water. It was 60 degrees out so it was actually a very good year for it.
It was just a week ago that I was down there taking photos of the ice.
What a difference a week makes. I do have to say though....I prefer the cold-and having the place to myself.
I start shivering just thinking about a plunge! Those folks are NUTS!!
ReplyDeleteSame type of weather here - Freezing cold and snow over Christmas, then rain and fog for new years. Still too cold to get me in the water though - those people are nuts!
ReplyDeleteThose individuals must like the challenge, but I wouldn’t. I’m envious of the 60° temperature, though.
ReplyDeleteLots of people do this in Lake Michigan, too, but never me! And I wouldn't do it here in Lake Washington either. Brrrrr!
ReplyDeleteNo way! I would never take the plunge! It is fun to see the cold water shock on their faces, though! I like the sunshine and 70's best!
ReplyDeleteBrrrrr! Crazy people. I don't care how warm it is outside if the water is that cold. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you. I prefer quiet days with less people. Which is crazy that I like living where I do.
Blessings,
Betsy
