PSA

I'm taking a break from my break to come here to say that Son in Law's grandmother lost her battle with Covid last night. She died alone, after almost a month on a vent, down the hall from where her husband of 60 plus years died just two weeks ago today. The only thing they did wrong was go to the doctor's for a flu shot.

I know I'm preaching to the choir but I have to say it anyway. STAY SAFE. STAY HOME. If not for yourself, for the people who have to sit by the phone waiting for updates. If you think not being able to be with your kitty at the end of their life is bad...you don't want to know what it's like when it's your mom or your grandma.

  1. Oh, how sad. I am so sorry for your loss. I agree that more people have to think of others and wear a mask. Stay safe!

  4. I am so sorry for your family. This is what I've been trying to get through to the scofflaws I know... it's not about them. It's about the ones they love. Sigh.
Sending a big hug to you all. I wish I could do more.

  5. Oh Deb, I'm so, so sorry. Thank you for this PSA. I can't believe how many people are ignoring the states and planning Thanksgiving with other people.
And you're photo of the "bubble" is what I've been trying to tell people all along. They act like I'm paranoid.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  6. My heart goes out to your son-in-law's grandmother. It is so terrible to think of all the people dying alone. Just today my husband commented how good it was that my dad passed two years ago and not this November. At least we were with him.

  7. Oh Deb. Im so sorry for your daughter and son in law. On a good note, when we hiked yesterday we only saw ONE person without a mask. This is Wisconsin where people were ridiculously cavalier about the Pandemic. Again, Im sorry. We are definitely staying in, Zoom keeping us going , and praying for all

  8. Oh no. I am so sorry about this, and will keep them all in my prayers. In the meantime, there is seriously no reason anyone should be traveling for the holidays this year, and yet ...

  12. That is a terrible tragedy. If only everyone understood that this is real and it is deadly.
