A Change of Plans

I knew I had a lot of fabric left in the autumn batik box but I thought it was yardage.

It wasn't. It was a collection of fat quarters.

I had wanted to put a solid border around the outside of the autumn quilt but that's not going to happen. I'm going to have to piece one instead.

Cutting and chain piecing all this pretty fabric is not exactly a chore. It'll be done before I know it. Certainly before winter.

  1. I think that's going to make an absolutely gorgeous border. Such pretty colors.
Thank you for your comment on my blog. I love that you knit mittens too, for the skaters. I just can't stand to think of children cold OR hungry. It tugs at my Mama heart.
    Blessings,

  4. With the colors of those batik fat quarters, the border is going to be beautiful. Probably even prettier than using one continuous length of fabric.

  5. Lol! It does seem boring to chain stitch them all but how amazing this will be for the autumn quilt!
