It was a fast 16 days, wasn't it? My TV is glad the Olympics are over. It was running pretty much all day and night. I am going to hate to see September's electric bill.
I didn't get much done on my designated Olympic project. Only three new colors of the last sequence got added. I just had too many other things to do this month.
I did manage to finish the ply on the fly mitts in time for the closing ceremony.
I had to watch it streaming online so I could see it live. NBC gives us a delayed version filled with commercials and stupid commentary in prime time. Ugh. The streaming version was excellent.
Did you see this?
Was that all about lace making? That's a giant doily right?
It's going to feel weird around here for awhile without the background noise of all the competitions. Maybe that's not such a bad thing. It's been all go, go, go here for weeks and I need some quiet time.

I saw very little of the Olympics but enjoyed why I did watch. We had family here all weekend so no TV was on at all. Glad you enjoyed it though and hope you savor the quiet.

I'm glad it gave you some good moments when you have been so busy. Some calm isn't such a bad thing either!
ReplyDeleteI started out watching the Olympics, but it all got to be too much. NBC did a TERRIBLE job of coverage and certainly made me think "ugly American" on more than one occasion. :-(
ReplyDeleteGuess I'm just getting old and cranky.
I have to say I really petered out after the swimming was over, it was still on at my house but my interest wasn't there. I did not even pick up what I was supposed to be knitting for the Olympics, I started something new which I did not come close to finishing.
