Going, Going, Gone

I was going to call this post "Kinky Balls" but thought better of it. All knitters know what kinky balls mean.
Something has been frogged.

I wanted another Faux Isle but I wanted it to be subtle and sophisticated. I bought two colors of gray-a gradient and a light tweed.

At first it was looking pretty good but when the lightest gray of the gradient hit the light tweed, the pattern disappeared and it looked terrible.

Ouch. This hurt.

I hate ripping back Fair Isle. It is always a tangly mess. Now that it is all frogged, I am not sure what I am going to do. I think another trip to the yarn store is the only thing that will help me figure this out.

  1. I feel your pain. That had to be hard to frog. I'm loving those grays so hope you can work something out for it.

  2. Oh no! That must be soul destroying, the start was looking really good. If you find yourself another shade of grey and start again then I'm sure it will be a very pretty hat.

  3. There's lots of kinky balls around my house!

My suggestion is use only one gradient, and the other a solild colour - that way you don't end up with two light colours together.

  4. I love the look you were going for...I may have to copy it when you get it just right!
