Snow Day

The weather people were hemming and hawing with their maps on Thursday about whether we would get snow yesterday. They could have saved themselves the trouble if they had just called me. I had my snow headache all day. It's a sure thing and it kept me up all night until the snow started at about 4 am.

It seems we skipped sweater weather this year. We went from tee shirts to winter coats overnight. My poor mini roses got caught out in the cold.

We rarely get snow this early in the season. Maybe it was all those snow socks I knit for myself and the Grands. Maybe it was Mr. Frosty here that I found in the rug stash. I'd been looking online for a winter rug project and didn't remember I had bought this guy a few years ago. I found him in the closet quite by accident. I've got too much going on right now to start working on him but I did get some of the wool cut into strips. I'll get serious in January.

  1. Brrrr it sure is cold. And...I woke up to snow this morning! Not as much as you have - just a dusting.

  3. We have more snow today but not supposed to be too much. We're going to a friends house to decoration gingerbread houses. I cheated and hot glued mine together this afternoon. The icing didn't like the drive home last year.
    Blessings and hugs,

  4. I'm sorry about the roses, but the photo of the snow resting on that bloom is lovely. (Emmylou Harris has a bluegrass love song called "Roses in the Snow," which was my first thought.)

  5. I think we had a 10% chance, so it was a surprise when I woke up to snow on the ground this morning. I love that photo of the rose with snow on it.

  6. I know about that snow headache. I often have one when a big weather change is in the offing. I am amazed at all you accomplish. I'm catching up from being gone. Also I have had some trouble commenting on blogs but I am still reading them.

  7. They are calling for a very snowy winter for us this year. We've had snow pretty much every other day this past week. Not a tonne, but enough to make everything look pretty and fresh just when it starts to look dirty and gross.
