Boosted

The Mister and I drove all the way down to the health department yesterday and got the Covid booster in one arm and the flu shot in the other. We're team Moderna and it's been impossible to get the new bivalent booster anywhere near us because of the shortage. I got tired of waiting so we grabbed the first appointments I could get with whoever had it even though it meant a bit of a drive.

I'm always such a big ninny when it comes to things like this and I always let them know up front. I have to say the whole health department staff was wonderful. Everyone was so nice. The shots didn't hurt at all unlike the harpoon I got at the local grocery store the last time I got boosted. I even got a lollipop for being a good girl in spite of my anxiety attack. They also gave us some masks and two more Covid test kits.

Since I am one of the lucky ones whose immune system goes on overdrive with vaccines of any kind I'll be laid out on the couch for a few days drinking lots of water and taking lots of Tylenol. A good lay in doesn't sound so bad after all the work we've been doing around here so I intend to make the most of it. As soon as I'm back on my feet we've got lots and lots molding to put down the stairs, around the new door and in the foyer which sounds like NO fun at all.

  1. We got our covid booster and shingles shot at the same time. Then when we got our flu shots, Dennis also needed a whooping cough booster. I had had mine at the doctors office a few weeks earlier. He had no reaction at all which I'm very thankful for, but I'm like you. Always a fever, headache and body aches with any kind of vaccine.
I hope you have a very short reaction time and enjoy the rest period. Take advantage of it.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  4. We got our COVID boosters a couple weeks ago (Team Moderna too, but I didn't have any problem getting it). I considered doing the Flu shot at the same time, but didn't want to deal with the double effects (if their were any). So I still have to book our flue shots.

Mom ended up with COVID this week, but everyone in the house is fully boosted, so she had one bad day (fever, cough and stuffed up) and has been improving every day since. So far no sign that she passed it on to Dad.

Hope the side effects don't hit you too hard. But take full advantage of that couch time either way!
