Twenty Five

Meet the newest addition to the Ghost Garden. It's the last tree the city is making me plant, thank goodness. Watering them all in the heat has been a real challenge. This one is out front since we are out of room in the back. It's a Forest Pansy Redbud that is taking the place of the PawPaw I had ordered that sadly died.

Here's the final tally:

  • 4 Loblollies
  • 6 Eastern White Pines
  • 2 October Glory Maples
  • 2 Ginkos
  • 3 Kousa Dogwoods
  • 2 Sweet Bay Magnolias
  • 1 River Birch
  • 4 Green Giant Thujas
  • 1 Forest Pansy RedBud

After planting the new tree we had to go to the hardware store to get more mulch and since all the plants were half off, of course I came home with a lapful. Just what I need. More things to water.

We're off to watch the Dragonboat races this morning hoping that the weather is better than it has been. Two days of heat advisories haven't been much fun but the evening thunder storms have been a good thing for the trees and plants.

  1. Sending good growing vibes to all of your new trees. We've had hot, humid weather but only about 22 sprinkles. Today's weather report says it's supposed to be cooler than yesterday - only 90 degrees.

  3. Glad you're done with the tree planting. It still amazes me that the city can tell you what to do and plant on your own property.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy

  4. I've been going out first thing and watering all my pots before I start work for the day. The problem is - then I want to stay in the garden and not go to work!
