TNT: A Miscount

The Garden got a few new critters this week and a lot more trees. I've finished another section of the pattern so I get to turn the page this week. I'm starting to believe that I just may finish this thing this summer.

As for the miscount, I've been laboring under the impression that I've been working on a 4 block by 4 block quilt. I'm not. The darn thing is 5 blocks by 5 blocks which means I have a lot more blocks to quilt than I thought.

I haven't laid it out in a long while to do a count so I'm going to excuse my confusion. I had hoped to finish this in a year but that's not happening. As of this count I still have 11 blocks to go and then all the end borders.

Something that will be finished soon is Funky Flowers. I'm up to that bottom blue flower now. I've only got to turn that corner and it will be history.

The blistering hot weather kept me stuck inside this past week so even Dear Jane saw a little action. I've figured out how to make those little corner squares. Now I have to figure out how to applique them down. The chances on getting them even? Slim to none.

  1. Hooray for maybe finishing The Garden this summer, Funky Flowers soon, and working on Dear Jane. Sorry about the miscount. That's as bad as thinking, "Thank goodness it's Friday" but it turns out to only be Wednesday. Keep going; you can do it!

  2. Funky Flower is such a fun piece. It's like the 60's!! And your garden is really coming along - so many trees... What a sweet quilt. I've often thought about taking up quilting...probably a good thing I haven't done so.

  4. I love that Funky flower! I need to prep more handwork for the days when is too hot to be up in my sewing room.

  6. The Garden is looking so pretty but I'm sorry about your quilt count. That can be depressing but look on the bright side. It's so fun and colorful and you GET to work on it longer!
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy
