Wednesday WIPs
Let's start out with the FOs today shall we? Riddari #2 is in the history books.
The Mister hounded me until I made him a sweater and thankfully it fit. I'm predicting it will live in a drawer for the rest of its life but at least I don't have to listen to..."you never knit me anything" anymore.
The Holm mittens are done and they are very pretty but I'm not a fan. I wore them out yesterday to walk Pup and my hands got cold in them. They never got cold in my Mosi mittens which are knit in skinny mini Palette. I'm going to have to make myself another pair of those this summer I guess. The Holms were knit in Knit Picks Hawthorne Tonal and Stroll which I guess were not the best choice for mittens.
I've still got socks going on. The pair on the left are at the toe. The pair on right are about an inch away from the toe. They are not getting much attention right now.
During this last gasp of winter I've been trying to get the warmer things finished. Right now it's the Ski Sweater that is getting all the attention while I'm watching the last week of the Olympics. Those lice will be the end of me. I'm so bored with them but I've got twelve more of them to do. It takes four rows to make one lice so that means I've still got 48 more rows to go. Ouf....
The Mister looks great in the Riddari. It looks like a perfect fit and I sure hope he wears it often to make all of that work worth it. Dennis loves to wear the sweaters I've made him.
ReplyDeleteThe mittens are gorgeous too. I just don't have that much patience for all of the beautiful color work that you do.
It was 74F today. Dennis put the batteries in the camper yesterday thinking we would go out next week. Maybe even around here since it's been so nice and save $$$ on diesel fuel. Well, I just heard a couple of hours ago that snow is predicted for Thursday. The first snow in ages. I think we've only had about 1 1/2 inches so far this year and it was gone the next day. Of course when we're getting excited it turns nasty again. Well, what did we expect? It IS February, but it's been so, so nice and we're getting very antsy to be camping again. Ha!
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy
Beautiful finishes! Your color work is so inspiring.
ReplyDeleteRiddari #2 is beautiful! I hope it doesn't live in a drawer, but if The Mister doesn't wear it, maybe it fits you. The mittens are lovely also, but somewhat useless if they don't keep your hands warm. If you ever attend an indoor mitten fashion show, you could wear these!
ReplyDeleteHooray for the finish on the sweater--it is magnificent! The mittens might work on blustery days in March when it won't be so freezing cold!
ReplyDeleteRiddari looks amazing! Well done!
ReplyDeleteRiddari #2 is just beautiful!!! I hope it gets a lot of wear. Those socks are such wonderful colors. Well, all of your projects are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThe Riddari is spectacular. Tell The Mister to stop his belly-aching.
ReplyDeleteI'm about 8 rows into the yoke on the Riddari I'm making for my Old Bloke. What a mammoth each row is, but you've given me hope to keep plugging away.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope the Mister's sweater doesn't live in a drawer. It's beautiful and it fits. The mittens are lovely looking. I do think that non-superwash, except for kids, makes warmer mittens.
ReplyDeleteThe sweater and mittens are beautiful. My DH really never asks for hand knits. He asked for socks once but he only wants them knit in black yarn! He got one pair.
