I thought I might have cast on too many stitches but it measures the same as my original one. Here are the directions from the free pattern on the Lion Brand website:
After 2½ skeins have been used up, use the remaining yarn for fringe (3-9 inches long).
Ha. That's not going to work. I'm starting to think that 2008 skeins and 2026 are not the same size. I guess I'm going to have to order a fourth. Maybe even a fifth.

That Homespun malarkey is frustrating. Whenever I've used that yarn, I've thought in terms of skeins, not yardage like other yarns. I hope your weather turns out to be whatever you're hoping for. We've got snow predictions ranging from 6-36", along with 50-60 mph winds. I'm hoping for less snow and that the electricity stays on, but I guess we get what we get.

ReplyDeleteI think most skeins of yarn are smaller than they used to be. It's 3F outside right now. I think we're being paid back for the gorgeous weather we've had the past few weeks. Our camping trip has been postponed indefinitely.

Shrinkflation would not surprise me at all - it's happening with EVERYTHING!
ReplyDeleteThat yarn looks frustrating. It's like the grocery items where the size decreases as the price goes up. The beach looks lovely even in winter.
