Wednesday WIPs: Apologies in Order
I've got socks getting their heels turned. Static seems to be winning the race over the Regia at the moment. They are my travel socks and every morning The Mister stops to get coffee before our walk and Pup and I wait in the car while I work on them. All that nice daylight through the car windows makes picking up stitches so much easier.
The Mister's Riddari looks like this now. I really owe this pattern an apology. That colorwork yoke is not nearly as bad as I made it out to be. I just did the first decrease round and it's sailing along. Truth be told there are very few rounds that require that nasty 3 color tangle. I only have one more to face and that's after a lot more decreases.
One Holt mitten is finished and the other one started. The Glennis cowl is slow going. Those slip stitches are a big yawn to work on. That Chroma yarn is no picnic either. It's fuzzy and splitty.
And..have you seen the latest issue of the Knit Picks catalog? It reads more like a knitting magazine. It even has free patterns. You know how I feel about all the knots I find in their yarn but I have to say they've really upped their catalog game.
I just saw the latest KnitPicks catalogue last week and I agree. Meanwhile, your socks are gorgeous, the Mister's sweater is coming along and that cowl will be so pretty (though I think Chroma is not a favorite yarn for me).
ReplyDeleteYou've got so much beautiful knitting going on! I've abandoned my plain mittens in favor of my Hitchhiker, but I will probably wish I had finished the mittens when the cold weather returns. Hooray for only one more three-color row on Riddari. That Chroma yarn is pretty to look at but I don't think I really want to buy fuzzy, splitty yarn.
ReplyDeleteYour projects look great! I’ve knit 2 Riddari sweaters and thoroughly agree about those rows with 3 colors! I’d forgotten about them when I started my second one… great pattern otherwise! And I’m actually contemplating knitting a third one, for my brother 😄 -Rigmor
ReplyDeleteBeautiful knits!!! I do love their yarn and I have yet to try a brand of yarn that doesn't have an occasional knot!
ReplyDeleteI haven't gotten the Knit Picks Catalogue but I'm intrigued! I did get one of my seed catalogues and I've been buying EVERYTHING in my head.
ReplyDeleteYes --- I got my Knit Picks catalog yesterday! In fact, I was going to make a blog post about how much I like it.
ReplyDeleteI just got the Knit Picks catalog today!
ReplyDeleteI haven't received my Knit Picks catalog yet and after reading this I want it NOW! Your knits are looking great! I'm loving the sweater colors and the mittens especially. I think because I'm terrified of colorwork, you really impress me with your skills. Dennis would love to have a Riddari.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
