On Thin Ice
I had such a good time yesterday. It was the 4 year old Grand's birthday and Daughter had it at the ice rink she works at.
It was the same rink where I used to do a lot of this. I always got to play the witches on the Theater on Ice team's productions.
I had quite the touch of nostalgia walking through those doors again. I used to haul giant pieces of scenery in and out every Sunday night for rehearsals. I'm glad that the torch is being passed. 4 year old Grand loves skating as does.....
...1 year old Grand. The Very Big Grands were there too so I got to do a few laps around the rink with them as well.
Right before Christmas I had made the invitations from a stamp set Daughter found online at Trinity Stamps and....
...she had a big banner and....
... a cake made to match. I'm amazed at how they can do this. I should say that the birthday Grand's name is not GMHER. It's what Google Photo's AI came up with when I asked it to erase the real name. I suppose there are a lot of good uses for AI but anything that needs to make sense is not one of them.
What fun!! I can't believe the 1 year old is already on skates!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my that cake!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun!
ReplyDeleteYou guys start them skating young! I am far removed from the young kid's birthday loop, and it's also amazing to me that they can make everything match. It's a far cry from my homemade pirate or animal birthday parties.
ReplyDeleteWhat a "grand" day!!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like such a fun, fun day! I love the invitations and banner and cake all matching. And 1 year grand on skates? That's crazy! I can barely walk. Ha! The photo of you as a witch is priceless. I can see where the love of skating comes from. Wish I could have seen you back in those days skating with all of the kids.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
What fun! I so glad you brushed the dust off your skates and had a good spin! The decorations, etc, are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun birthday! I ice skated a bit as a teen but boy I sure couldn't do it now. Good for you for taking a spin.
