A Very Senior Moment

I cooked my rice cooker. I have a bad habit of using my glass stove top as extra counter space and had sat it on an unused back burner in anticipation of making some soup in it later in the day.

I never made the soup but I did use a front burner to boil potatoes not thinking that the heat would radiate. It certainly did.  What a mess that was to clean off the glass.

  2. Now that is something that I would do!!! It is the very irritating part of growing older--not thinking things through better...Glad it didn't start a fire!

  3. I purposely try not to use my glass stovetop as a counter because I would definitely start the condo on fire. I'm terribly bad at leaving things on it once I get started.
    Blessings and hugs,

  4. Well that is certainly annoying. Sorry you now have to search for a replacement.

  5. oh no! When I met Dave, I had to break him of the very bad habit of storing dishes in the oven. It's something his mother does. But no one in my family ever did, so I'd preheat the oven without looking inside, and then open it to some very hot dishes that I now had to find space on the counter for. It was only ever baking trays, so nothing that couldn't take the heat - but it was still a pain!
