Wednesday WIPs
I couldn't play nice with the pooling. I ripped out Miss Bab's heel and I'm going to try the afterthought. I've done it before on Christmas stockings but never on a sock. The Regias are getting their heels turned.
I finished the leg of the Cozy Quilt sock so now I have to figure out the heel. The ski sweater has more lice on it. That's going to be such a slog. Repetitive pattern, big needles, woolly wool yarn. Oh, my. I'm tempted to put this away until cooler weather.
The entrelac dishcloth is coming along but I can't take my eyes off of it for a second. Every time I get interrupted I have to stop and think about what direction I'm supposed to be going in and what row I'm supposed to be on. It's a challenge.
And....the dragon boats are here! I get ridiculously excited when they show up on the beach. The races are this Saturday. I love the boats but hate the event because it's always so HOT. There may be rain this year and that would be fine with me. Wet I can do, hot I cannot.
Oooh, the dragon boats have arrived! I would love to see them in the water but it's really hot here too. I don't think I would be out there watching in the heat either.
ReplyDeleteLove those quilt socks. I can't imagine staying in pattern on the heel.
Blessings,
Betsy
All those socks! You're smart to do an afterthought heel on the Miss Babs sock. If you're not happy with the pooling, you won't wear them, and that would mean the lovely yarn was going to waste. I do like the entrelac washcloth but don't think I'm quite up to the challenge. Do the dragon boats look more dragon-y for the event? I was expecting cool dragon heads!
ReplyDeleteI remember seeing a dragon boat race years ago - very cool. The quilt sock is so pretty. And the entrelac dishcloth is pretty, but like Bonny I'm not sure I'm up for that challenge. I seem to need simple right now.
ReplyDeleteThe after thought heel is a good idea to combat pooling! The colorwork sock only needs a solid heel short row heel to begin the colorwork again! I'm so glad you are doing the Garterlac dishcloth-I still get turned around if I don't pay close attention; I try not to stop in the middle of the row! lol
ReplyDeleteI have that same problem with Entrelac!
ReplyDeleteYeah entrelac. It is so very pretty though. The colorwork socks are amazing!
ReplyDeleteThe dishcloth is stunning.
