I was having a good time with the handspun hat project but after a few inches in my knitting alarm started going off.
It kept telling me that it was too big. I stretched it out next to my favorite hat and it did look a bit too wide.
I took it to the frog pond where it remains. I wasn't in the mood to start over yesterday.
Sometimes the yarn just needs to marinate in the pond for awhile until it behaves again. :-)

Frogged or not, it’s going to be a great-looking hat. I love the stripes!
ReplyDeleteThat is so frustrating! And one reason I can't imagine spinning. I'd never get gauge! I can barely get gauge with commercial yarn. However, don't give up on the yarn. It is so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIt will be a good hat once you cast on again--you will forgive it soon! lol
ReplyDeleteI am making a sweater that I know is too big, yet I can't stop. I have been tweaking it, and well we know how well that usually goes. I should just put it away but I crochet on and on and on.
ReplyDeleteBetter to discover it now, rather than near the end!
ReplyDeleteOh you saved yourself a lot of disappointment by checking in early with the other hat. Good job
ReplyDelete:) I do that too...hopefully one day it will all work out!
