TNT: Nothing to See Here

There was no way that I was going to be able to sit and hunch over my stitching this week. It took me until Saturday not to be in tears just sitting. What I did do was buy something. I said I was looking for another vintage needlepoint kit and I found one I liked on eBay.

When I first started Funky Flowers I hated that old, scratchy wool yarn but now I like working with it. It's wonky so I don't have to fret about being too perfect with my stitches because they are anything but perfect.

I did accomplish one important thing this week. I had to de-hair my work stands. One holds my cross stitch projects and one holds my knitting. For some reason the cats use them to rub against so they are usually covered in hair. This week I cleaned them and then rubbed them down with my non-greasy Vick's back rub hoping the strong smell will keep the kitties away. I did see one of the darlings go up and take a sniff, make a face and walk away. I'm taking that as a good sign.

  1. Your new needlepoint project is very pretty. And, I like your work stands. I think my aunt had one of those.

  2. That is a pretty needlepoint kit. I love the smell of Vicks and sometimes use it on my temples and neck if I have a bad headache. I never thought of it as a kitty repellent, but it does have a lot of uses!

  3. The new kit is lovely! Very funny to use Vicks as a cat deterrent! lol

  4. That is a fun needlepoint pattern. I've never done needlepoint but working with the scratchy yarn has me itching at the thought of it. :-) I used to have one of those workbaskets and I loved it. I used it all of the time but two of the wood supports were broken in one of the moves. Someone must have put a heavy object on top of the box it was in. I supposed with so many moves, it was inevitable that a few things were broken but that was disappointing. The Vick's is a great idea.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy

  6. Oh, those stands bring back memories. All the knitting women on my mother's side of the family had one.

  7. I swear cats just know what drives you crazy. Mine will ignore me all day and night until I get a big knitting or crosstitch project in my lap. Oh now you want to lay across me stretching out to your full length. Then I get the cat stink eye because I dared to move a 1/4 inch.
