Friday Fluff: Something New
I tried but I couldn't do it. Leave the Ladybug without a project, that is. I went digging in the nearly depleted fiber stash and came up with this superwash Merino/Tencel blend.
The gradient purple is lovely but....it's shiny. Really shiny. I'm not a fan but that's not going to stop me from working with it. I'll adjust.
I retired two more stitch markers this week from the handspun Pi Shawl. The markers that count off 20 stitch sections were a very good idea because I no longer feel like I'm getting nowhere. I can see progress now. It's all mind games with this stuff, isn't it?
I love your Pi Shawl. I also know I would never make one! LOL
ReplyDeleteI often use my stitch markers as progress keepers. There are times when you need to know you and your knitting haven't entered into some sort of time warp, and you definitely need to be able to able to mark progress with that Pi Shawl. Just wait until the last one!
ReplyDeleteThat shawl sure looks pretty! Nice work.
ReplyDeleteOoof I hear you on the mind games. I have a sleeve that has not grown at all that I have knit on for days.
ReplyDeleteAnd next time you measure it, it will be 2 inches too long!
DeleteOhhh - that shiny would make something nice and lacy to wear around the neck!
ReplyDeleteThe Merino is spinning up so nicely. I love the colors. And your Pi shawl is finishing up quickly. It will be done before you know it. The stitch markers were a great idea.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
The new fiber is very pretty and I bet it spins nicely! The markers are a very good way to mark progress!
ReplyDeleteI resort to the mind game with a stitch marker to see progress. Whatever it takes sometimes. Maybe you can ply that fiber with something that would reduce the shiny?
