Something New

My new scroll frame is here.

It's sort of a scroll frame/Q snap hybrid.

I like it. It won't fit in my floor stand but I can balance it on lots of things to make it work. I wish it helped me count because I had a lot of ripping out to do again yesterday.

It's hard to see but in that left hand corner you can see the beginning of another little sheep. That's as far as I got this week on my other sampler. Now that the weather is nice the outside is calling. We've got so much work to do to make up for the summer of neglect. I spent the day power washing the deck while The Mister tackled weeds and leaves. It's a jungle out there.

  1. I like the idea of the Q-snap scroll. I found the ones that just "roll" don't always hold the fabric very tight over time.

  2. Glad this arrived - I know you were looking forward to using it. Since I use a sewing method when I stitch, I don't use a frame or hoop, just stitch in hand. I'm curious, when you stitch with a frame, do you have one hand on top and the other underneath?

  3. Looks like an interesting product. I used to work with a scroll frame, but the fabric wasn’t really taut enough to stitch.

  4. Looks interesting! When I used to cross stitch I would use color pencils to color what I had completed on my chart...it seemed to help me:)

  5. I usually just stitch in hand but I have a couple of scroll frames in the storage unit.
    Take care.
